Vehicle zone control: know when a vehicle is somewhere vehicles should not be
Vehicle zone control watches areas you define as vehicle-free, or as vehicles-only, and logs every entry with the vehicle type, colour and time. Think of a pedestrian walkway in a plant, a residential lane, a hotel forecourt, a construction walkway or a loading area. It is for safety managers, security heads and property teams who want a record of vehicles where they should not be, without someone watching every camera.
ILLUSTRATION WITH SAMPLE DATA
The problem
Trucks and cars drift into pedestrian lanes, and nobody notices until a near-miss or a complaint.
Rules about where vehicles may go exist on paper, but there is no record of how often they are broken.
Reviewing footage to find one vehicle in one lane is slow and often skipped.
How it works
- Mark the zone.On an existing camera view, you draw the area where vehicles are or are not allowed.
- Eye AI watches the zone. The analysis runs on a computer at your site.
- Entries are logged. When a vehicle enters, the event records its type, colour and time, with a snapshot, and how long it stayed.
- You review and act.Open the dashboard to see which zones are breached, how often and when.
What you get
- Vehicle events per zone. See which lane or area has the most entries, by hour and day.
- Type and colour. Car, truck, motorbike and similar types, with colour as an estimate.
- Dwell time. How long the vehicle stayed in the zone, not just that it entered.
- Searchable history and CSV export through Event history and reports, useful for safety meetings and audits.
Honest limits
- It alerts on any vehicle in the zone. Telling an authorised vehicle from an unauthorised one needs plate reading, which is a separate analytic (Beta, with a site survey first).
- It reports vehicles in a zone. It does not measure speed or the distance between a vehicle and a person. Forklift and pedestrian proximity is Launching with pilot partners, not live.
- Alerts to WhatsApp or email are Launching. Today you see events in the dashboard.
- Small vehicles such as two-wheelers can be missed or mislabelled at night, in glare, or far from the camera.
- Vehicles partly hidden behind others can be merged or missed. Colour changes under coloured lighting.
- Time-of-day schedules, such as a zone that only applies at night, are not available yet.
Questions about vehicle zone control
Can I allow vehicles in some zones and block them in others?
Yes. You mark each zone and decide which areas are vehicle-free.
Can it tell a company truck from a visitor's truck?
Not by itself. That needs number plate reading, which is a separate analytic and starts with a site survey.
Is this the same as forklift and pedestrian safety?
No. This logs vehicles entering a zone. Proximity between forklifts and people is Launching with pilot partners.
Do I get a snapshot?
Yes. Each event has a snapshot, the time, the type and the colour.
Does it work with the cameras I have?
Yes, with network cameras that provide a video stream and a clear view of the zone.
