CCTV camera uptime monitoring: proof your cameras were actually being watched
Stream health records, every minute, whether each camera feed was healthy. When a camera drops, you see exactly when it went down and when it came back. It answers the awkward question after an incident: "were we blind?" It is for security heads, facility and operations managers, and anyone who must show an auditor, insurer or owner that the system was working.

The problem
A camera can be dead for days and nobody knows until the moment the footage is needed.
After an incident, "the cameras were working" is a claim with no record behind it.
Auditors and insurers ask for evidence of monitoring, and a verbal answer rarely satisfies them.
How it works
- Every feed is checked.Eye AI checks each camera connected to it throughout the day, on a computer at your site.
- Each minute is recorded. The history notes whether that minute was healthy or had no signal.
- Gaps are listed.A gap has a start time, an end time and a length, and is easy to find.
- Problems repair themselves where possible. When a feed drops, Eye AI tries to reconnect on its own and records the gap either way.
What you get
- Uptime history per camera. A simple timeline per camera shows green for healthy minutes and grey for gaps.
- Gap list with start and end. Exactly when each camera was down, ready to show in a report or a meeting.
- Self-healing reconnects. Short outages often fix themselves without a site visit, and the log shows it happened.
- Evidence you can export, through Event history and reports, for audits and insurance conversations.
Honest limits
- It reports the health of the video feed. It cannot recover footage that was never recorded.
- It measures whether Eye AI received a usable stream. A camera pointing at a wall, or blocked or out of focus, can still send a healthy feed.
- If the on-site computer itself is off, or the power fails, there is nothing to record that minute, and the history will show the gap.
- Cause is not always known. The record says when a feed was lost, not always why.
- Reconnection depends on the camera and network coming back. It cannot fix a failed camera or a cut cable.
- Reports cover cameras connected to Eye AI, not other cameras at your site.
Questions about were we blind? stream health
Does it tell me when a camera goes offline?
It records every gap with a start and end time. Alerts pushed to WhatsApp or email are Launching, so today you see gaps in the dashboard.
Can I show it to an insurer?
You can show the uptime history and gap list and export them to CSV. Whether a particular insurer accepts them is up to that insurer.
Does it fix broken cameras?
No. It reconnects feeds that drop and come back, and records the gaps. A failed camera still needs a person.
Does it check my NVR recordings?
No. It reports on the feed that Eye AI receives, not on your recorder's disk.
Does it need extra hardware?
No. It runs on the same on-site computer as your other analytics.
